Cell formatting functions, also called cell format predicates, are used to specify the cell formats for cells in a table, such as fill colors, cell border style, text alignment, font properties, number formats, etc. These are used in the Cell Format Expression attribute when you define your own Computed cell formats. See Computed cell formats for an overview.

More commonly, if you wish to set cell formats in a table, just use the Cell format dialog. Computed cell formats are used when you want the formats to respond fluidly to the actual data or to other aspects in your model.
