Beta Tester Page
Analytica 4.3 is current in the beta-testing period. Users with active support are invited to use the beta-releases and participate as beta-testers. As a beta-tester, you are expected to report bugs to support@lumina.com in a timely fashion, and to update to the newest build as new builds are released.
The beta testing period will be in effect for several months, with new builds appearing typically every two weeks.
We consider the current beta build to be solid on features already present in Analytica 4.2, so should not be a huge advantage of starting to use 4.3 for things you would have been using 4.2 for. You can, of course, leave 4.2 installed while beta-testing 4.3 as a fall-back should you encounter an issue.
Many of us at Lumina are involved in a series of conferences during the month of November. We are delaying announcements that this has now started until we return from these conferences. Also, during the first half of November, we will be less responsiveness to bug reports, but we will review all of them in great detail upon our return.

Beta 4.3 downloads
The current build is 4.3.0.16. The latest beta-build installers can be downloaded from:
Beta Testing Licenses
The beta software requires a beta-tester license to use. If you are like most beta-testers, the following will hold for you:
- You have an individual license of Analytica 4.2 already installed on your machine
- Your support is active
- Your computer has an internet connection
When this is true of you, the installer will automatically take care of obtaining the necessarily license for you. When this works (a feature that itself is being beta-tested), everything you need happens for you.
If you are set up with a centrally-managed license for Analytica 4.2 (e.g., a floating license), the installer might still be able to obtain a beta license for you automatically also. Active support on your floating license and an internet connection from your computer are still required.
If you use a floating license with active support and want to install a 4.3 beta license on the RLM server for easy use by anyone in your organization, then contact us via support@lumina.com.
Release Notes
See release notes for what's changed in each beta release. It lists new features and fixes to significant problems.
Example Models demonstrating new 4.3 features
- Most of the example models in the Optimization Models directory have been updated to demonstrate their formulation with structured optimization (i.e., using DefineOptimization).
- We hope to provide more examples during the beta-testing period.

Known issues
- The Optimizer manual, providing the introductory material on Structured Optimization, is in a state of development. It is currently the best source for an introduction to these features, but is not complete.
- During the beta cycle, documentation on new features is always kept current in the Wiki, but the PDF manuals tend to lag in their incorporation of the same content. So in early beta testing, rely more on the Wiki for this info. Later in the cycle, we'll want feedback on content and errors in the manuals as well.
- See the Pending Analytica 4.3 Issues page for known issues in the current beta build.
- See Analytica 4.3 beta Release Notes for issues that present in early beta bulids, but since fixed.
