This page describes Obfuscation and Browse-only locking as it exists in Analytica 4.2 and later.

Obfuscation and browse-only locking has present in Analytica 2.0 and later, but prior to release 4.2, these apply to the entire model in memory (i.e., everything is locked). Analytica 4.2 extends this to module-by-module locking (linked modules only). This page describes details of module-by-module locking.

With module-by-module locking, you may end up with a mixture of unlocked modules, obfuscated linked modules, and browse-locked linked modules in your model. Various limitations exist on what you can do with objects in locked modules. These limitations are designed to prevent users from gaining access to hidden definitions in obfuscated modules, or making changes to browse-locked sub-modules.
