Thanks for resurrecting your notes! I will run a couple of checks and verify all this asap.

I can answer a couple of the questions now:

JPEGs are best for photos, but lose information every time you edit or adjust the picture, even if you are simply cropping them, so I would not use JPEG format. Either GIF or PNG will work. PNG is slightly more compact and looks the same on different systems. So, go with PNG.

Also, the fact that we are taking color shots, but will be printing in black and white means that we have to be careful with the colors we us in the model. At minimum, change the diagram color (the background for the model nodes) to be white. I'll need to run some tests with printers to check on the other node colors.
