Analytica 4.3.2 Patch Release Notes

Patch release 4.3.2 provides bug fixes for 4.3.1. It does not include any new enhancements. Model compatibility is not impacted.

Memory Leaks

The main reason for the patch release was to fix a memory leak that was discovered. In some models, this leak was substantial, hence, we feel it is important for 4.3.1 users to install the 4.3.2 patch.

We also detected a minor GDI leak, which could cause user-interface glitches after using Analytica for several hours.

Performance Profiling

When DefineOptimization( ) evaluates the linear constraint coefficients, the time spent analyzing constraint nodes was being tallied in the time taken to evaluate DefineOptimization. This has been changed, so that it is tallied with the constraint node, which provides more useful information.

Optimization

When an optimization problem has an unbounded objective, a message box was being shown saying "no feasible solution found". It now says "optimizing an unbounded objective".

Diagrams

The white area outside of the "page area" has been eliminated when you are viewing an influence diagram. Formerly, the area outside the used pages would appear white.

When a SubTable referred to a single cell, but a non-existant cell outside the range of the table index(es), the SubTable button would turn to text when pressed.

Make Same Size was not setting the size of the entry field to match the size of the reference field's entry field in the case where the reference field had no nodeinfo stored (i.e., was using the defaults for everything). The resized node was resizing its entry to be extremely narrow.

Typescript

The List typescript command was not working when no parameters were supplied, but has been fixed. As described in the Analytica User Guide, Appendix D, this provides a listing of all identifiers currently in use, including all reserved words.

Adding/Removing Indexes by Drawing Arrows

A bug was fixed that resulted in a malformed table when two or more arrows were drawn simultaneously from an index to a table node.

Tutorial

A few minor changes were made to the "Sharing Models with Others" chapter of the tutorial to reflect recent updates to the ACP site.

Installation and Activation

A bug with the automatic license upgrade from 4.2 licenses to 4.3 licenses from within Analytica was not working correctly. This applies to when a user with active support enters his 4.2 activation key into the Update License... dialog. The functionality communicates with Lumina's servers via the internet to automatically issue and install a 4.3 license with no further interaction required from the user.
