Functions in this category deal with pictures in one way or another. An ''image'' is a data item that contains a picture, and can be displayed on the screen as a picture.  An image is an atomic data type that can be held in the cell of an array, and displays in the cells of a result table. When the [[Pict]] attribute is set to an image, the object displays with that image when shown on an influence diagram. The Picture class is an object type whose sole purpose is to display an image.

Canvas functions are used for drawing, and all have names beginning with "<code>Canvas</code>". See [[Drawing images]] for details on how to use a canvas and canvas functions to draw an image.
